TheNext2Shine was happy to attend the Mario, MySpace Music Album Release Show at the Canal Room this past Tuesday. The event was hosted by DJ dB, and Myspace Music, while being sponsored by Coca-Cola. Myspace Records artist Mateo also appeared and performed a few of his songs. He also performed an exclusive new song that will be off of his album.
“D.N.A.” is the upcoming fourth studio album by Mario to be released on November 3, 2009 through J Records. On the album Mario has worked with previous hitmakers Bryan-Michael Cox as well as new collaborators including The-Dream, Soundz and Jim Jonsin amongst others.
The album’s lead single “Break Up” which was written by Sean Garrett and produced by Bangladesh features Garrett and Gucci Mane. Released on April 28, 2009, in the US it has so far peaked at number 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and #15 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Mario’s most successful single in five years. “Thinkin’ About You” was released as the second single on September 4, 2009 as a digital-download.
