Up until recently it has just been a random video and open mic here and there whilst I pursued a career...and focused on my duties as a mum. But I have got to a point now where all I want to do is sing/songwrite...My aim for this year is to build my following and release an EP towards the end of the year. UK singer/songwriter Midé sings of seeking clarity of mind to forge a new path in the face of concerns that are familiar but unacknowledged, his soulful voice asking 'Wake me, I’m asleep I’m in a daydream, wake me'. Midé says 'I worked hard writing songs and composing music long before it hit me that this is who I am', and after picking up the guitar and beginning to write songs he looked to play wherever he could, saying 'I have this drive to keep music live, to keep it just raw and deliver it how I feel it and how the songs are written'. [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNI6oeTawCY[/youtube] Combining his soulful voice with skillful guitar work reflects his influences that include John Mayer, Israel Houghton and Eric Clapton, with Midé saying 'the thing with my music, I think, is I try not to imitate merely the artist I'm listening to...'cause the way I look at it art is supposed to mimic life, not other artists...I think I sound like myself...I sound like acoustic soul...it's the kind of music that appeals to me, it's the kind of music  that I'm drawn to'. He has released several projects, 'Travellin' Light (2011), 'City Lights EP' (2012), 'Wind Chimes' (2012) and is now gearing up to release the 'Mainstream EP' (2013), from which the song 'Mainstream' is taken, and here also is his performance of 'Wind Chimes' at Ont' Sofa.com.
