We first featured Australian singer/songwriter/producer and multi-instrumentalist Dru Chen last year, and he has just recently released the official video for his track 'You Bring Out The Best In Me', a song described as 'an uplifting slice of 1970's soul' that is 'equal parts Stevie Wonder and James Brown'. Aiming to make '21st-century soul music', Dru looks to blend the 'traditional forefathers' with the 'digital musicians' of today, drawing influences from the likes of The Temptations, Michael Jackson and Prince in combination with artists of today like Kimbra and Frank Ocean in the attempt to 'fuse the values of old-time musicianship with experimental future aesthetic'.
"You Bring Out The Best In Me" is the first single from his Intentions EP. The Motown/Soul Train-inspired music video has Dru dancing with choreographer Aisha Kuryana (Kimbra, Guy Sebastian) amongst other inner city Melbourne vignettes.
