Freedonia is a 10-piece soul band from Spain that includes a 'mighty rhythm section, a powerful brass-metal wind section and the incredible voice of Aurora Garcia'. Influenced by the likes of Etta James, Marvin Gaye, Jackie Wilson, Sharon Jones and Barbara Acklin, the band was 'born in the basement of a school', with the band members dreaming of making music over the summer, and when singer Aurora Garcia joined the band they decided to 'go for it with the soul music and all this kind of music we play now'. For the band, soul is 'spirit, is strength...soul is passion, sometimes pain too, but it is always feeling...soul is good vibes, soul music is happiness and is suffering, but from a positive point of view'. Singer Aurora Garcia says that for her soul 'is an overwhelming style of music to my ears and throat', and 'when I'm on stage and feel the heat and claps of the people, when you see the audience is really enjoying with something that you've been working out for so long, it's an amazing feeling'. Through their live shows the band have built a loyal following in Spain, and in 2012 they released the album 'Freedonia', and here they sing 'Heaven Bells' from the album.
